“If you want to read something different (and easy) then read: The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. One quote from this book “Jumping Jack Christ!” may be the first time that particular combination of words has ever been put into print. This book is 240 pages and published by Doubleday. This and other great books may be found at your local public library. “
[Disclaimer: Levar Burton did not actually recomend this book… but if there existed a Reading Rainbow for adults, he would have. ]

Dude. That book is so rad!! Silly pathological liar girl who was all: “It’s a childrens book.”
I’m glad you agreed that it wasn’t a children’s book, thus confirming my suspicions about said girl.
There’s a giant excerpt on the Today’s (the tv show) web site. They chose it for the book club book. There’s a lengthy excerpt on the page: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3079116/
Sweet, that was our book club’s book a while ago. I still think of the book when I order Johnny Walker Black, blackness being the important part of that statement.
it’s funny. whenever i hear the title of a book that sounds familiar, but i can’t remember what it’s about, i just assume that i was stoned when i read (listened to) it. now i remember where i heard of that one. thanks j.
